Students can submit an application through the central university admission system from May 20 to 27 this year.
Up to 109,129 seats at 78 institutes will be available via the system, which will become inactive next year as the country has already designed a new university admission system.
Speaking in his capacity as president of both the Council of University Presidents of Thailand and the Association of University Presidents of Thailand, Prof Suchatvee Suwansawat said on Thursday that interested applicants could now read application conditions on http://a.cupt.net.
“After you submit an application, don’t forget to pay the application fee by May 29,” he said, adding application results will be announced next month.
From next year, the admission system will be different. There will be five rounds of applications. The first round is based on students’ portfolios; the second is based on a quota system but with practice and academic tests for students to attend; the third round involves direction admission system shared by partner institutes; the fourth round features the General Aptitude Test/Professional Aptitude Test scores-based admission system and the fifth round is the direct admission system offered by institutes that still have some seats left.
“The new system won’t allow students to apply to other institutes when their application is already accepted by a university,” Suchatvee said.
